The city, in usable days
A weekend with Friday and Sunday flights is different from two full sightseeing days. Start with the time you can actually spend in the city, choose one route and leave room around its main visit.
Two familiar stops are currently closed
Dublin Castle’s entire campus and Chester Beatty are unavailable during the current end-2026 closure period. Our routes leave them out. Do not use the Castle grounds as a shortcut. Recheck the official notices before a later trip.
For visits on 10–13 November 2026
TFI anticipates central bus disruption and some Luas Red Line disruption around EU Presidency meetings. Venue restrictions can also affect plans around Merrion Square and the National Gallery. Check the dated official notice before using a fixed route in that window.

Start with the part of Dublin you want to spend time in. A manuscript and an afternoon of art, a western-city visit, or a harbour day when the weather suits. Choose one direction and let the rest of the trip follow.

Books, art and Georgian streets
Give the morning to Trinity, then follow your interests into the National Gallery or Archaeology. Leave a proper gap for lunch and a little room around Merrion Square.
Make a central city day

A different second day
Choose the prison-history tour at Kilmainham or the brewing story at Guinness. Let one visit set the pace, with lunch and time to return to the centre afterward.
